This prototype was built to address needs identified by my UX study of people's habits, two relating to my daughter and a third for myself. The app provides a set of timers to encourage reading, brushing teeth, and performing a seven minute workout. Selecting a timer leads you through options for that activity, and then you are taken to a second screen to execute the timer.
The reading timer offers time selections from 5 to 60 minutes. Once the timer is activated you are notified of the time remaining every 5 minutes until completion. The timer is an animated visual clock.
The brushing timer offers time selections from 5 to 120 seconds. Once the timer is activated you are notified of the time remaining every 10 seconds until completion. The background image changes every 10 seconds to a different smiling animal, keeping the child engaged. The timer is an animated toothbrush and visual clock.
The moving timer allows you to build a list of exercises in the order of your preference, these will have a fixed time of 60 seconds. Once the timer is activated you are notified of the time remaining every 10 seconds until completion. The timer is a running list of exercises and a visual clock.
Once you have chosen a timer you will proceed to the start screen where you are presented with controls to start, pause, resume, or end your activity. Your progress is relayed both visually and via speech to make your experience as hands-free as possible.
